Beginning an acoustic set with Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘Dust On The Ground’, The Pretty Marx opened up a chilled out, but gripping night at The Winchester. With a stripped back sound front man James Hazell’s voice transpired into something truly extraordinary, husky and deep. Continuing the set with a new song titled ‘Serfs’ followed by EP number ‘Ab Imo Pectore’, the waves of lightly plucked guitar strings combined with strong vocals brought peace and tranquility to my mind

Last weekend tha Larmer Tree Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary. In 1990 it was just a one day affair in front of 200 people, headlined by the late Dick Heckstall-Smith. This year the number of artists and performers was in well excess of that oiginal audience with around 4000 punters flocking to the beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens to submerge themselves into a wonderful abundance of dance, theatre, comedy and all manner of festival treats.
